The state continues to say that families sleeping on the streets should go to Temporary Respite Centers. If they do that they a) are only guaranteed housing for 5 days b) have to wait 6 months in order to be put on the emergency shelter waitlist. It is a punitive system. Families are given an impossible choice and make the best decisions they can. Join us on Thursday Sept 5th *inside* the State House in to call on Governor Healey to repeal the new shelter laws and restore the Right to Shelter!
Thank you to all who have shown up in the last month in support of families and children having the right to shelter, and a safe place to sleep at night. Join us on Thursday to call on our leaders to demand that the state must respond to the crisis it has created.
